Spring Newsletter
Spring is around the corner and we have already opened up
the doors and started using the “Tower of Power.” Thank you for your support of fitness and gymnastics. March has been a busy month and all
classes have been filled or close to capacity.
Programs at the Garage Gym are complimentary to all levels
of fitness and sporting interests.
I
will be modifying a few procedural items to ensure a smooth running
operation. Please see information
below for new policies.
Payment: Starting next month the expectation
will be to pay prior to the first class for the entire month of classes (3, 4,
or 5 days). If two continuous months are scheduled together, I can take
payments in 2 installments.
Make up days: I will hold one make up class a month on a Friday or
Saturday morning.
Enrollment: Please let me know if you wish to continue the class at
least a week before the next month starts.
Shoes: Gymnastics shoes are a must for a number of reasons. First of all safety and
performance. Socks do not provide
enough traction. We do back
bridges in every class and feet simply slide out in socks. Additionally I want to protect our
athletes from funguses, warts, or any other foot aliment.
Gymnastics slippers are probably
the cheapest sport footwear you can purchase. Capezio shoes at $18 appear to be
durable. I have also used Balero
slippers at $15/pair.
Outside foot wear. All classes will go outside to use the
tower or to run. I recommend any
tennis shoe with good lateral support.
Water bottle: Of course I will always help kids get water. This just helps to keep class moving
quickly.
My Home: I would like to move the gym away
from the home when the time is right.
In order to move I need to be fill
up classes throughout the day.
Adult Classes: First of all, is there a need? I’ll open up classes upon
request and get a port-a-potty. I
like the saying, “It is not where you train but with who and how.”
Feedback: I am open to
feedback on how to improve the program.
Tell me what you would like to see with scheduling (Summer Camps),
Equipment and Special class offerings.
One final note:
After
School Program : I will be doing a free gymnastics class
for anyone who wants to join.
Please contact Nick Algood to sign up. njallgood@gmail.com
MVE School Fitness
& Gymnastics Assembly
When: Thursday March 28th 2:30 in the Cub Gym.
What: I plan on showcasing the talents of all
of our current athletes and gymnasts.
Who: I would
appreciate it if MVCC athletes and gymnasts could make the assembly as well.
How: I will check
with Dr. Patrick and perhaps they can allow the gymnasts to do a rehearsal at
2:00. I could use some parent
volunteers to help coordinate.
Thanks again.
Jeff Monahan
